The Aftokinitodromio Serron ( Greek Αυτοκινητοδρομίο Σέρρων , English Serres Racing Circuit ) is a permanent motorsport racetrack in the city of Serres in Greece . The approximately 1,000 hectare motorsport facility is located in the southwest of the city.
history
The clockwise racetrack was opened in 1998. It was built according to the technical specifications of safety for Formula 3 races . With a length of 3,186 meters and a width of 12 to 15 meters, it is the largest racetrack in Greece. The route has 16 curves, 7 of them to the left and 9 to the right. In contrast to the Athens Circuit , the racetrack has been homologated by the World Motorcycle Federation FIM and the International Automobile Federation FIA .
There is also a motocross racing track on the site . The track length of around 1,760 meters and a width of 8 to 9 meters corresponds to the FIM rules for world championship races. The start and finish straight is also used as a drag racing track .
