Afton is a town in Lincoln County in the US state of Wyoming on US Highway 89 .

In spring there is a strong spring near Afton (1296 liters per second), which is fed by the snowmelt.
history
Afton was founded by Mormons on the Oregon Trail . Settlement began in 1885. The place was named after the River Afton in Scotland.
