occupation

Again is a cinematic reenactment in which the artist Mario Pfeifer deals with a case that was the subject of the German press in the summer of 2016. The film premiered at the Visions du Réel festival in Nyon .

content

The film shows how four men beat a Kurdish-Iraqi refugee in the Saxon town of Arnsdorf and then tied him to a tree: allegedly because he threatened the cashier of a supermarket. The defenseless man stayed behind for 25 minutes until the police released him. The perpetrators were never prosecuted. On the one hand, officially because of a lack of public interest. On the other hand, because the prospective plaintiff had died after an epileptic fit.

production

For the film, a complete supermarket was reconstructed as a film set in an empty factory hall. Sequences from an original YouTube video of the incident served as the basis for the scenic reenactment of the events.
