Agnès Bénassy-Quéré

Agnès Bénassy-Quéré (born March 15, 1966 ) is a French economist and professor at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne . Her research interests include the international monetary system , exchange rates, and economic policy . In 2000, Bénassy-Quéré won the coveted prize for young researchers, Prix ​​du meilleur jeune économiste de France , and is a member of the Cercle des économistes .

In 1987, Bénassy-Quéré completed her main studies at the École supérieure de commerce de Paris (now ESCP Europe ) before obtaining a Ph.D. at the Université Paris-Dauphine . She then completed her habilitation in 1995 at the University of Cergy-Pontoise and received her doctorate in economics in 1996 .

Professional background

During her doctoral studies, Bénassy-Quéré worked as an economist in the Department of Economics and Finance at the Office of Economic Policy and as a teaching assistant at the Université Paris-Dauphine (1991–1992). She then worked as a lecturer at the University of Cergy-Pontoise and as a research assistant at the Center d'Études Prospectives et d'Informations Internationales (CEPII) (1992–1996). After her doctorate, Bénassy-Quéré took on a professorship at the University of Lille II and was promoted to the scientific advisory board at the CEPII. She was also deputy director there (1999–2000 and 2004–2006), before finally becoming director of the CEPII from 2006 to 2012. In 2001, Bénassy-Quéré moved to the University of Paris X Nanterre , where she stayed until 2004. At the same time, she accepted a position as associate professor at the École polytechnique , from which she moved to the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in her current position in 2011 .
