Agostino Cavadini (born December 25, 1907 in Locarno ; died October 20, 1990 there ) was a Swiss architect . His father Eugenio Cavadini was also an architect.

Life

Cavadini studied at the Milan Polytechnic , where he graduated in 1932. After a short job in Germany, he joined his father's office in Locarno in 1933. There, the formal language of the office changed to a rationalism with Italian characteristics. Examples of this are the Clinica San Rocco in Lugano (1935) and the Carmelo health resort in Brione sopra Minusio from the same year, the expansion of the Locarno district hospital (1937) and the Sante Croce retirement home in Faido (around 1935).

After his father left, he built a large number of buildings in the 1960s and 1970s for both private and public clients, such as the cantonal prison “La Stampa” in Lugano (1st construction phase 1965, 2nd construction phase 1976 –1979 in collaboration with Augusto Jäggli and Marco Bernasconi) and the sanatorium of the Fondazione Varina in Orselina (1983–1985).
