Aguincho is a village in the Beira region , in the northern interior of Portugal .
geography
The place is located in the western foothills of the Serra de Estrela on the banks of the Ribeira de Alvoco , halfway between Vasco Esteves de Baixo and Fradigas . Aguinho is located in the southeast of the Portuguese district of Seia .

Aguincho is one of the five localities in the municipality of Alvoco da Serra . The other places are Outeiro da Vinha , Vasco Esteves de Baixo , Vasco Esteves de Cima , and the municipality capital Alvoco da Serra.
Aguinchos parish Alvoco da Serra belongs to Seia county , in Guarda district .
history
Romans settled here, as evidenced by coins found in Aguincho in 1884 and other finds in the community. The current place was not mentioned in the town charter of Alvoco da Serra in 1514 and probably arose later. Aguincho belonged to the Alvoco da Serra district until it was dissolved in 1836 , as part of the administrative reforms after the Liberal Revolution in 1822 and the subsequent Miguelistenkrieg . Aguincho has remained a town in the municipality of Alvoco da Serra.
Culture and sights
In the village there is the Catholic chapel Capela de Nossa Senhora da Agonia . It is registered as a listed building, a more precise qualification is still pending.
On Carnival Monday it annually celebrates here the village festival Festa da Chouriça ( port. For: Feast of the sausage). On the second Sunday of July there is also a church festival dedicated to the patron saint of the village, Nossa Senhora da Agonia (Portuguese for: Our Lady of Agony ).
