Ahmed Akaïchi ( Arabic أحمد العكايشي, DMG Aḥmad al-ʿAkāyišī ; * February 23, 1989 in Bizerta ) is a Tunisian football player .

Career

In his youth, Ahmed Akaïchi played for his home club Club Athlétique Bizertin with a two-year interlude with the capital club Club Africain Tunis . Then he went to Sousse and joined the first division and former champions Étoile Sportive du Sahel . There he became a top striker within a short time, scored eleven goals in 20 games in the 2009/10 season and became the top scorer with fourteen goals in 23 games the following year.

His success also quickly brought him a call to the Tunisian national team . His first major tournament was the 2010 African Cup of Nations , where he was used twice.

Fortuna Düsseldorf was already interested in the storm talent at the end of 2010 , but there was no commitment. At the beginning of the 2011/12 second division season, FC Ingolstadt 04 had a need to attack after a goalless start and signed the Tunisian for the third match day. Although the transfer fee for Akaïchi was not officially announced, it is said to have been at least 500,000 euros, making this the most expensive commitment in the club's history for the Schanzer.

Akaïchi moved back to Espérance Tunis in January 2013 .

In 2015 Akaichi moved to Étoile du Sahel on a free transfer.
