Ahmed al-Yaari (born January 16, 2000 ) is a sprinter from Yemen .

Athletic career

For the first time at an international championship, Ahmed al-Yaari made an appearance in 2017 at the Asian Youth Championships in Bangkok , where he finished fifth in the 1,500 meter run in 4: 02.51 minutes. He then took part in the 800-meter run at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar and was eliminated there with 1: 55.86 minutes in the lead. The following year he retired from the Junior Asian Championships in Gifu over 400 meters with 50.31 s in the first round, as well as over 800 meters with 1: 56.53 min. In 2019 he took part in the 200-meter run at the Asian Championships in Doha , where he was unable to qualify for another round with 22.34 s, as well as over 400 meters with 48.27 s. At the end of September he was able to start at the World Championships there thanks to a wildcard and retired there with a new national record of 22.37 seconds in the lead .
