Ahmet Çakır

Ahmet Emin Çakır (born September 4, 1943 ) is a German-Turkish ergonomist and author of numerous books on ergonomics and lighting .

Life

Çakır came to West Berlin in 1963 . In 1975 he received his doctorate from the Technical University there with investigations into the assessment of color television-compatible floodlight systems for sports facility lighting . In 1978 he published the first study on computer workstations .

In 1979, the Turkish-German became scientific director of the Ergonomic Institute Berlin, which he still directs today with his wife. For decades he has been a member of national and international standardization committees in the fields of ergonomics and information technology , a member of the International Lighting Commission and the German Lighting Society as well as the Ergonomic Society and the Society for Ergonomics . From 1981 onwards he worked as an expert at the main association of commercial professional associations, until they joined the DGUV ( German statutory accident insurance) has risen. Since 2008 he has been editor-in-chief of the scientific journal Behavior & Information Technology .
