AhnLab, Inc. ( 주식회사 안랩 Jusik-hoesa AhnLab ) is a South Korean software company and the leader in anti-virus programs in South Korea.
Companies
The company was founded in 1995 by Ahn Cheol-soo . AhnLab produces software , especially antivirus programs , firewalls , IPS and security software for online games and mobile internet . The company headquarters has been located in Seongnam City since 2012 . AhnLab holds 65% of the market share in South Korea. Ahn Cheol-soo resigned from his post in 2005 and has been on the board of directors ever since. The company's CEO is now Kim Hong-seon. The company is listed on the South Korean technology stock market index KOSDAQ . When the founder and namesake Ahn Cheol-soo announced in 2012 that he would run for the presidential election in South Korea in 2012 , the company's share price slumped 15%.
