history

The Aichacher Nachrichten has been bearing this name since 1972, when the district of Aichach-Friedberg was created as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . A forerunner with the name Schwäbische Landeszeitung had existed since 1957. It was founded in the former stationery store Zenz in Aichach, outside the Upper Gate . The newspaper brought news from the then district of Aichach, editor was Erwin Misera. The paper was later named Augsburger Allgemeine Ausgabe L 1 (for Land 1 ). After the regional reform, the newspaper was then called Aichacher Nachrichten and was based in Werlbergerstrasse. The headline at the time read: " Schiller holds Bonn in suspense". The newspaper was produced using lead typing until August , when it was converted to phototypesetting . In 1984 the newspaper moved into the new office and editorial office at Aichacher Tandlmarkt. Printing takes place in Augsburg. The newspaper offers a local section of at least eight pages every day and can be removed in one piece. Since March 2002 the office of the Aichacher Nachrichten has been on the town square of Aichach . Since 2007 there has been a new newspaper layout with a new font and continuously colored pages.

The paper competes with the Aichacher Zeitung, which is also published in Aichach .
