Aimo-Rhys Heilmann (born October 22, 1974 in Leipzig ) is a former German swimmer who won an Olympic bronze medal in 1996.

Heilmann swam for SC Magdeburg and trained with Lutz Wanja , after the 1996 Olympic Games he moved to Potsdamer SV . At the European Junior Championships in 1991, he won gold with the 4-by-100-meter freestyle relay and silver with the 4-by-200-meter freestyle relay. After the 1.99 meter long swimmer took fifth place over 100 meters freestyle at the German Championships in 1994 , he came second in 1995 behind Steffen Zesner over 200 meters. In the same year he won the German short course championships over 200 meters. Heilmann won his first championship title on the 50-meter track in 1996. At the 1996 Olympic Games , Heilmann finished ninth on the 200-meter freestyle course as the winner of the B final. The German 4 x 200 meter freestyle relay made up of Aimo Heilmann, Christian Keller , Christian Tröger and Steffen Zesner won the bronze medal behind the US relay and the Swedes.

In 1997, at the short course world championship in Gothenburg, the German 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay won in front of the Swedish hosts with Lars Conrad , Christian Tröger, Alexander Lüderitz and Aimo Heilmann. In 1998, Heilmann took second place at the German Championships on both of his freestyle courses ; In 1999 he won both titles.
