Alexander Lüderitz (swimmer)

Alexander Lüderitz (born August 6, 1973 in Berlin ) is a former German swimmer .

The 1.96 m tall Lüderitz started for SC Berlin . As fifth in the German Championships in 1996 over 50 and over 100 meters freestyle, Lüderitz was part of the German squad for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta . There he competed in the 50 m freestyle and took 21st place in the qualification. The German four-by-100-meter freestyle relay consisting of Mark Pinger , Alexander Lüderitz, Bengt Zikarsky and Björn Zikarsky won the first heat and qualified for the finals with the second best time of all heats behind the US relay. In the final, Christian Tröger , Bengt and Björn Zikarsky as well as Mark Pinger swam two seconds faster than in the prelim and achieved third place behind the US relay and the Russians. Alexander Lüderitz also received the bronze medal for his work in the preliminary run.

At the European Swimming Championships in 1997 , Alexander Lüderitz, Steffen Zesner , Christian Tröger and Torsten Spanneberg swam in the 100-meter freestyle relay to second place behind the Russian relay and won silver in front of the Dutch. The German 100-meter freestyle relay was even more successful at the 1997 Short Track World Championships , where Lars Conrad , Christian Tröger, Alexander Lüderitz and Aimo Heilmann won gold ahead of Sweden and Australia. Lüderitz won the 50 meter freestyle at German championships in 1997 and 1998 .
