Air Croatia ceased operations in 2015. The information in italics refer to the last status before the end of operation.

Air Croatia was a Croatian virtual airline that served European destinations from Zagreb Airport . Their flight operations were carried out by external companies in wet lease .

history

The company was founded in 2013 and planned to start flight operations in summer 2014; However, this was postponed to December 18, 2014, then to March 1, 2015 and again to April 2, 2015. Air Croatia did not have an Air Operator Certificate and had originally announced in November 2014 that Estonian Air would operate its flights with an Embraer 170 . Instead, the start of operations took place on April 2, 2015, one of the Dutch Denim Air ACMI in wetlease leased ATR 42-300 .

Air Croatia had already had a partnership with the German Hahn Air since November 2014 for ticket sales via the Global Distribution System using the Hahn Air Systems IATA code (H1). However, Air Croatia announced poor sales for flights to Prague, Rome and Budapest. The Zagreb – Budapest connection was abandoned one day after the start of operations due to insufficient demand. On April 23, 2015, the virtual company temporarily suspended all flights. The company cited a financial bottleneck caused by billing problems with their customers' credit card payments. As a result, Air Croatia could no longer pay the rent for the leased aircraft. It was planned to resume operations on June 1, 2015, but this did not happen. The virtual company was dissolved at the beginning of 2016.
