The Academies of Sciences Switzerland ( . Double Académies suisses des sciences , ital. Accademie svizzere delle scienze , rätoroman. Academias svizras da las scienzas , tight. Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences ) are a composite of the four scientific academies of Switzerland :
- Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT)
- Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS)
- Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences (SAGW)
- Swiss Academy of Technical Sciences (SATW)
The association is intended to help network the sciences regionally, nationally and internationally and to represent the knowledge community independently of institutions and subjects. How to broadly support the network and commit to scientific excellence.
Further goals are early detection, ethics and dialogue between science and society in order to promote mutual understanding.
The Science et Cité Foundation and the TA-SWISS Foundation for Technology Assessment are defined as competence centers of the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences.

Scientific Policy Grants
Since 2000, the academies have been running a scholarship program that supports young scientists in doing scientific background work for the Swiss Parliament for a year . This is intended to promote and improve mutual understanding between science and politics. The Gebert Rüf Foundation supported the scholarship program from 2002 to 2009. Since 2006, the political scholarships have been organized by the Scientific Political Scholarship Foundation, which is organized by the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences and also by the Swiss Parliament, the Swiss National Science Foundation , the ETH Board , the Swiss universities and other partners are supported.
