The Akaflieg Braunschweig SB 6 Nixope is a single-seat glider produced by Akaflieg Braunschweig . The first flight took place on February 2, 1961.
history
The SB 6 is the first Akaflieg Braunschweig aircraft made of GRP . At the Idaflieg summer meeting in 1964, the aircraft was destroyed through third-party negligence while the group was still working on the strength of the new construction. A further development of the SB 6 is the BS-1 by Björn Stender , which was built in a modified form at Glasflügel Flugzeugbau after Stender's death .
construction
The wing connection was first designed as a tongue-fork connection. This design feature, for which Björn Stender and Othmar Heise were honored with the Special OSTIV Prize in 1998, can be found in almost all subsequent plastic aircraft .
