Akira Yaegashi

Akira Yaegashi ( Jap. 八重樫東 , Yaegashi Akira * 25. February 1983 in Kitakami , Japan ) is a Japanese boxer in the Fly and straw weight .

Professional career

On October 24, 2011 he boxed in the strawweight against Pornsawan Porpramook for the WBA world championship and won by technical knockout in round 10. However, he lost this belt in June of the following year in the title union against the WBC champion Kazuto Ioka on points.

On April 8, 2013, he became WBC flyweight world champion when he beat Toshiyuki Igarashi on points. He defended the belt three times and lost it to Roman Gonzalez in September 2014 due to a technical knockout in the 9th round.
