Akli Fairuz

Akli Fairuz (born May 8, 1987 in Gampong Lada , Aceh , † May 16, 2014 in Banda Aceh ) was an Indonesian football player.

Life

Career

Fairuz started his career with Persal South Aceh in the second Indonesian division ( Divisi Dua Liga Indonesia ). In early 2010, the attacking midfielder moved to Indonesia's top division, the Indonesia Super League , to Persiraja Banda Aceh .

death

On May 10, 2014, Fairuz was kicked in the abdomen by PSAP Sigli's opposing goalkeeper Agus Rahman during an unsuccessful defense action in the penalty area . Fairuz slumped unconscious and was rushed to a hospital in Banda Aceh with internal injuries. There he was in a coma for six days before he died on May 16. Fairuz was buried two days after his death on the island of Sumatra in Gampong Beureu'eh in the Beureuenun district.

The death of Fairuz was the second of a player after a foul in the Indonesian first division. On May 15, 2009, the midfielder Jumadi of KT Bontang died after a foul by his opponent Deny Tarkas.
