Al Overton Jr.
Al Overton Jr. (born before 1970) is an American sound engineer .
Life
Overton, son of the Oscar nominated sound engineer Al Overton , began his career in television in 1968. His feature film debut was Burt Kennedy's western The Merciless Avenger . As a result, he was involved in numerous large Hollywood productions and only very rarely worked for television. Between 1976 and 1989 Overton was nominated four times for an Oscar in the Best Sound category: 1976 for 700 Miles West , 1980 for The Electric Rider , 1982 for Dance in the Clouds and 1989 for Die Hard . However, he couldn't win any of the prizes. In 1991 he retired from the film business.
