Alaggia Rock ( Spanish Islote Alaggia ) is a small and rocky island off the northeast coast of Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located northeast of Ryswyck Point on the Parker Peninsula immediately south of Ryswyck Island in the southeastern entrance to the Schollaert Canal between the Anvers and Brabant Islands .
Argentine scientists named it in 1956 after the Air Force officer Guillermo Rodolfo Alaggia, who was killed in a plane crash on September 17, 1955. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 2004.
