Alamande Belfor

Alamande Belfor (* 1972 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch entertainer, dancer, choreographer and event manager. The native Dutchman, grew up on the Caribbean island of Curacao , has worked and lived in Vienna since 1997. Among other things, Alamande Belfor choreographed Song04, Willkommen Österreich and the second Starmania season on ORF, where he was able to pass on his experiences for artists from the entertainment sector. At Austria's Next Top Model , he acted as a juror and runway trainer. Belfor is married to former model Ianara Belfor. The couple has three children.

Life

Alamande was born in 1972 at Wittenstraat 18, in the municipality of Amsterdam . In 1976 he moved with his parents and siblings to the Caribbean island of Curacao , where he spent his entire childhood. He took dance lessons for the classical dance styles and taught himself the modern styles such as B. Breakdance , Electric Boogie, Funk and Salsa or Merengue. During his school days he danced in many shows and galas. Soon he also began to choreograph himself. With friends he founded the Hit`n`Run dance group with which he had great success on Curaçao. In 1990 he went back to Holland, where he graduated from school. He studied management, economics and law at the Hogeschool Enschede for three years . Then he broke off his studies in order to concentrate fully on his work as a dancer, model and choreographer.

Among other things , Alamande has choreographed for some well-known Dutch artists such as Roxy D or Double Lushes. His modeling and dance jobs brought him in contact with artists from all over Europe. In Germany, for example, he danced for Captain Hollywood . In 1997 he got the chance to come to Vienna as a model. The manager of a dance studio became aware of Alamande and offered him a job as a dance trainer in his studio. In addition to teaching, Alamande worked internationally as a model and choreographer for fashion shows. He has choreographed for Lutricia Mc Neal, Tamee Harrison , Two in One , Jade Davis, Fancy and Hubertus Hohenlohe . In 1998 Alamande was the frontman of the group Groove Gangsters , who landed at number 21 in the German charts with their song “Funky Beats”. In October 2000, Alamande realized a project with the creation of the “ BigsMile Productions ” agency . The agency deals with various projects in the show sector. Fashion tours for the local jewelry designer Pierre Lang or a fashion show for “Phillip Plein” through to car presentations for BMW, Porsche or Audi are all part of his repertoire. The legendary sports magazine Bikini Gala has also been a highlight since 2002 .

  • In 2003 Alamande choreographed the second Starmania season on ORF.
  • In March 2004 Alamande choreographed the preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest at ORF “Song 04” and was an active member in the design of the advertising trailer.
  • In September 2004 he opened the BigsMile Kids & Teens Club at the Vienna Dance and Health Club Beer's, in which young talents between the ages of 5 and 16 are trained in basic moves, hip hop and breakdance choreography.
  • From autumn / winter 2004 to summer 2006 Alamande was an active member of the jury at the Nike Dance Finale.
  • In August 2007 Alamande Belfor initiated the project “Together against obesity” for overweight and obese children and adolescents.
  • In June 2008 Alamande opens the first fitness and dance studio for the whole family - “BigsMile Place”
  • In January 2009 Alamande was a jury member and catwalk trainer for the first season of Austria's Next TopModel .

In August 2011 Alamande presented a new network for dance enthusiasts in Vienna - the BigsMile Club. As part of the BigsMile Club, Alamande developed another product, the BigsMile Dance. With the BigsMile Dance, the BigsMile Club makes the dance program possible in various fitness studios.

Awards

On May 29, 2010, Alamande was awarded the “Leo Award” by the Austrian Chamber of Commerce for its services in health care, including the “Together against obesity” project.
