Alemanni Museum Vörstetten

The Alamannen Museum Vörstetten is an archaeological museum in the Baden-Württemberg community of Vörstetten , in the district of Emmendingen . The museum is supported by the Vörstetten Museum and History Association, which was founded in 2005 and has around 50 members . The opening took place in July 2009.

Permanent exhibition

The permanent exhibition of the museum shows the results of the archaeological excavations carried out in 1991, 1998-2000 and 2007 in the municipality. The theme is the history of the place in the context of the situation in the entire Breisgau at that time . The majority of the finds is from the transition period of late antiquity in the 4th century and the early Middle Ages in the 5th century. On an outdoor exhibition areas, alamannisches homestead is reconstructed, the visitors everyday life of the early Alemanni to vividly convey. The outdoor area houses a stable house , a pit house , a blacksmith's workshop, a warehouse, a pottery workshop, an oven and a house garden for the cultivation of old crops, dyes and grains.

Another objective of the Alamannen Museum in Vörstetten is educational work, which, with its educational museum concept, is aimed at pupils, teachers, parents and citizens interested in history.
