Alan T. Waterman Award

The Alan T. Waterman Award is a National Science Foundation award for early career researchers. It is awarded annually and the winner receives $ 1 million for research at an institution of their choice over five years. It was first awarded in 1975 and is named after the first NSF director, Alan T. Waterman .

The awardee must be a US citizen or permanent resident in the US, be under 36 years of age, and have received a doctorate no more than 7 years ago.
