Alan Wilson (Bishop)

Alan Wilson (born March 27, 1955 in Redford Barracks in Edinburgh ) is an Anglican clergyman and theologian of the Church of England .

Life

Wilson studied at St John's College , Cambridge . Wilson was ordained an Anglican Deacon in 1979 and a priest in 1980. Since 2003, Wilson has succeeded Michael Arthur Hill as the Anglican Bishop of Buckingham in the Diocese of Oxford in the Church of England. In April 2014, Wilson stated that he believed 13 Anglican bishops in the Church of England were homosexual . The associated declaration on the Church's attitude to sexuality was rejected by the 2017 Synod. Wilson is married with five children.
