Albert Aschl

Albert Aschl (born February 1, 1900 in Rosenheim ; † August 2, 1982 ibid) was a German archivist and local history researcher .

life and work

Aschl was since 1926 city archivist in the city archive Rosenheim and at the same time district home administrator. He held the office of archivist until 1965. In addition, he headed the city museum and the city gallery. He was also chairman of the local historical society from 1928 to 1978. He made numerous contributions to the history of the city of Rosenheim and the district of the same name .

In 1961 he received the plaque of honor from the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts and in 1968 the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany. He was also the recipient of the Johannes Aventius Medal and the Ring of Honor of the City of Rosenheim. He was the father of the legal scholar Albert Josef Aschl (* 1927).
