Albert Bünn
Albert Bünn (* 1924 in Preetz ; † 2006 ibid) was a German shoemaker who is considered to be the inventor of the screw studs for football boots .
Invention of the screw stud
On February 1, 1948, master shoemaker Albert Bünn registered a "screw-in soccer cleat" with the patent office in Munich . A copy of the patent certificate is in the local history museum in Preetz. In his shoe, the screws protruded from the sole so that the studs, which had a thread on the inside, could be screwed onto it.
Albert Bünn sent two pairs of these shoes to Hamburger SV , which was enthusiastic but did not get in touch with him again. Bünn himself was unable to market his idea. His second invention, the development of clip-on heels for women's shoes, also failed to bring the hoped-for success.
In the studded shoe used today, which Adolf Dassler brought to worldwide fame with the adidas brand , the thread is instead in the shoe.
