Albert Bodard
Albert Bodard (born January 10, 1883 in La Rochelle , † 1969 ) was a French diplomat .
Live and act
Albert Bodard was the son of Marie Vélina Penaud and Julien Eugène Bodard. In 1906 he was a translator at the Chengdu Consulate in China, and from 1910 he was Vice Consul there. From 1911 to 1915 he was consul in Chongqing , where his son Lucien (1914–1998) was born.
In 1916 he was consul in Chengdu and from 1922 to 1925 consul 1st class in Kunming . From 1926 he was consul general in Batavia in Indonesia and from 1931 to 1934 envoy in Kabul . From 1935 to 1937 he was envoy to Addis Ababa in Italian East Africa , where he was not allowed to use his radio. From March 12, 1937 to August 30, 1939 he was envoy to Tehran and from January 3 to August 26, 1940 he was envoy in Mexico City .
