Albert Cole Hopkins (born September 15, 1837 in Jamestown , New York , †  June 9, 1911 in Lock Haven , Pennsylvania ) was an American politician . Between 1891 and 1895 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Albert Hopkins attended public schools in his home country and Alfred University , also in New York State. After that he worked as a teacher for some time. He then worked in Troy (Pennsylvania) in trade until 1867 . Then he moved to Lock Haven where he worked in the wood industry. Politically, he became a member of the Republican Party .

In the 1890 congressional election , Hopkins was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the 16th  constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded Henry Clay McCormick on March 4, 1891 . After a re-election, he was able to complete two legislative terms in Congress until March 3, 1895 . In 1894 he renounced another candidacy.

After his tenure in the US House of Representatives, Albert Hopkins continued his work in the wood industry. Between 1899 and 1904 he was forestry commissioner for the state government of Pennsylvania. He died on June 9, 1911 in Lock Haven, where he was also buried.
