Albert Favarger

Albert Favarger (born October 23, 1851 in Sackets Harbor , † December 28, 1931 in Neuchâtel ) was an American engineer , electrical engineer and entrepreneur .

After studying at the Federal Polytechnic Zurich for a mechanical engineer , he entered the 1874 Matthias Hipp one founded in Neuchâtel factory for telegraph and electrical apparatus. It was founded in 1889 whose managing director and was director from 1908 to 1920, now , FAVARGER Peyer & Co. said. After the bankruptcy, the company was continued by FAVAG. Favarger was president of the Swiss Electrotechnical Association from 1891 to 1892 . 1855–1911 he taught electricity at the École d'horlogerie et de mécanique in Neuchâtel. In 1911 Favarger was a member of the jury at the World Exhibition in Turin and in 1914 at the Swiss National Exhibition .

Favarger is considered to be one of the advocates of a uniform time worldwide. He demanded that all clocks should be coordinated by a global, electrical network, which should be connected to a central master clock in an observatory.

In fact if even just one is lying one suspects the sincerity of them all. The public will only gain security when every single clock indicates unanimity at the same time at the same instant. ”
