Electrosuisse, Association for Electrical, Energy and Information Technology is a Swiss professional association in the field of electrical , energy and information technology .
history
On April 24, 1889, the Swiss pioneers of heavy current technology formed the Swiss Electrotechnical Association (SEV), on the one hand to compete with the competition in the energy sector and, on the other hand, to standardize the standards. From 1895 the SEV was supported in its efforts by the Association of Swiss Electricity Companies (VSE). In 1897, the SEV created the Federal Heavy Current Inspectorate , which took over the control of safety standards in the electrical industry.
In 2002 the name of the association was changed to the current name. Electrosuisse has been running the Federal Heavy Current Inspectorate (ESTI) on behalf of the federal government since the beginning of the 20th century.
The seat is in Fehraltorf ZH.
Association goals
The association fulfills the following tasks, among others:
- provides industry information, education and training to
- offers the exchange of experiences on a national and international level
- provides cross-industry contacts with experts from politics , business and school to
- is committed to the safety and quality of electrotechnical training a
- supports companies active in electrical engineering in the areas of safety and reliability in dealing with electrical energy
- is responsible for standardization and testing in the field of electrical engineering and represents the Swiss economy in the field of electrical engineering in international standardization and certification bodies. The award of the ENEC mark simplifies the sale of Swiss products in the member states of the European Union .
Members
Around 6,900 members (engineers, professionals, scientists, students, energy supply companies, industrial companies, universities and technical colleges, associations and institutions) are members.
Publications
The official publication organ is the journal Bulletin SEV / VSE , which Electrosuisse publishes together with the VSE.
