Albert Fuchs (theologian)

Albert Fuchs (born October 14, 1937 in Putzleinsdorf ; † February 3, 2010 ) was a Roman Catholic priest , theologian and New Testament scholar .

Life

After graduating from the Episcopal Gymnasium Petrinum , studying theology in Linz and being ordained priest in 1962 in the Cathedral of the Conception of Mary , he received his doctorates in theology in 1966 and in philosophy in 1968 ( sub auspiciis praesidentis rei publicae) at the University of Salzburg . From 1962 to 1964 he was a cooperator in Buchkirchen and Steyregg . He then completed a special Bible study course at the Biblicum , which he continued in Innsbruck and Regensburg , where he completed his habilitation in 1977. In 1972 he was appointed professor for the New Testament at the KU Linz . From 1991 to 2001 he was a member of the Pontificia Commisio de re biblica .
