Steffie van der Peet (born September 10, 1999 in The Hague ) is a Dutch track cyclist .

Athletic career

Steffie van der Peet started cycling at the age of seven. First, she competed in cyclo-cross races . At the age of 15 she was invited to the Dutch Olympic training center National Sports Center Papendal and specialized in the short-term disciplines in track cycling.

Van der Peet achieved her first international successes in 2016: Together with Hetty van de Wouw, she became Junior European Champion in the team sprint and won bronze in the Keirin. At the national level, she won three junior titles on the track. The following year she became junior runner-up in Keirin and took third place in the sprint at the European Junior Championships . From 2018 she started in the U23 class and won silver in the Keirin at the U23 European Championships, and in 2019 two silver medals in the Keirin and team sprint.

In 2019 van der Peet made her debut in the elite: Together with Kyra Lamberink and Shanne Braspennincx , she started at the European Railway Championships in front of a home crowd in Apeldoorn and contested the first round of the competition. The trio won bronze.
