Albert Goedeckemeyer

Albert Goedeckemeyer (born February 2, 1873 in Springe near Hanover, † August 7, 1945 in Potsdam ) was a German philosophy professor.

Life

Goedeckemeyer studied after high school in Lausanne , Berlin , Tübingen and Strasbourg and was 1897 in Strasbourg to Dr. phil. PhD . In 1900 he completed his habilitation at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . In 1906 he was made a non-official associate professor. From 1908 to 1938 Goedeckemeyer taught as a full professor of philosophy at the University of Königsberg ( Kant chair ). During the Weimar Republic he was a member of the liberal German State Party . After his retirement in 1938 Goedeckemeyer moved to Potsdam .

The ancient philosophy turned, he devoted himself as a historian of philosophy , especially Plato , Aristotle and Kant . For the big Kant celebration in 1924, he edited the Festschrift of the Albertus University in Königsberg .
