Albert Grunow

Albert Grunow (born November 3, 1826 in Berlin , † March 17, 1914 in Berndorf ) was a German chemist and diatom researcher . Its botanical author's abbreviation is " Grunow ".

From 1851 Grunow was a chemist at the Berndorfer Metallwarenfabrik . In 1901 he donated his collection of fossil and recent diatoms ( diatoms ) to the botanical department of the Natural History Museum in Vienna .

He was a correspondent for the Geological Reichsanstalt .
