Albert Kiefer

Albert Kiefer (born March 21, 1918 in Niederbühl ; † February 21, 2018 ) was a German painter.

Life

Kiefer served as a soldier in World War II and later worked as an art and craft teacher at various schools. He was rector at the educational model school Carl-Schurz-Schule in Baden and then worked in teacher training in Hesse.

Kiefer was first from 1964 a student advisor in the university and from 1972 professor for art education at the institute for art education of the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . Here he mainly taught the basics of design. In 1983 he retired, but taught until 1997 and offered seminars on “Aesthetic Education in Theory and Practice since 1945”.

His son is the well-known painter Anselm Kiefer .
