Albert Kleemaier

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Albert Kleemaier (* 1928 in Kempten (Allgäu) ; † 1992 ) was a German mountaineer and climber.

He is considered to be the modern developer of the Allgäu Alps , because he made many first ascents of extreme climbing routes in the 1950s . Albert Kleemaier, who never fell as the first rope climber in his entire climbing career, has also proven his skills outside of the Allgäu Alps, for example by repeating the Dru west face and the direct north face of the Große Zinne very early .

In his home mountains he caused a sensation through numerous solo and winter ascents. Today, the climbs he has developed are considered extreme classics and are sometimes feared.
