Ascent
There is no marked path leading to the Hochgundspitze. Even the slightest ascent from the Große Steinscharte requires climbing in the UIAA grade II, but also experience and the ability to orientate in the pathless terrain. Another, also pathless and unmarked route with climbing points up to the II. Degree UIAA runs from the Rappenseescharte over the southwest ridge to the summit. The Hochgundspitze is rarely climbed.
