The southern Höllhorn is a 2145 meter high mountain in the Allgäu Alps . It is north of the Hornbachjoch and south of the Northern Höllhorn .

Together with the Northern Höllhorn , the two rock peaks are often called Höllhorns . From certain points of view, such as the Älpelesattel , the two peaks look very similar to two curved horns.

There is no marked path to the southern Höllhorn. The easiest climb crosses below the east wall to the north and leads over the north side to the summit. This path also requires mountain experience. The south ridge that begins directly at the Hornbachjoch is one of the most popular climbing tours in the Allgäu Alps . Despite the shortness, the route has some interesting climbing spots, but also fragile rock.

The previously existing spreading point of the Faller must be bypassed after a rock eruption in the 1990s.
