Albert Lynch

Albert Lynch (born September 26, 1860 in Gleisweiler , † 1950 in Monaco ) was a German- Peruvian painter who spent most of his life in France.

Life

Albert Lynch was born to Diego Lynch and Adele Kefler. In 1878 he went to Paris to attend the École des Beaux-Arts , where he studied with Jules Achille Noël , Gabriel Ferrier and Henri Lehmann . In 1890 and 1892 he exhibited at the Paris Salon , at the World Exhibition in 1900 he was awarded a gold medal and in 1901 he was accepted into the Legion of Honor .

He specialized in depicting sophisticated ladies of the world, although he rarely painted in oil . Instead, pastel , gouache, and watercolor were his preferred techniques. Lynch's work reflects the distinguished elegance and carelessness of the Belle Époque .

He also created book illustrations , for example for The Lady of the Camellias by Alexandre Dumas the Elder. J. or father Goriot of Honoré de Balzac .
