Albert Piatra (German: Albertstein ) is a place in the Suceava district in Romania .

Albert Piatra is suffering from severe population losses as more than one in four people has emigrated since the economic crisis in 1993. In May 1998 the last five Bukowina Germans emigrated to their country of origin. The place still has 70 inhabitants today . The place is 15 km 2 and belongs to the city of Solca .
history
Albertstein was first mentioned in writing in 1578 under the name "Albersteig". In 1940 the place had 4,000 inhabitants, including 3,970 Bukowina Germans. After 1944 the Germans were expelled except for 4 people who were hidden until 1949. In addition, 77 Romanians and 13 Ukrainians came to the village. After the eviction, over 200 houses stood empty, which were blown up in 1946.
