Albert Gabriel Rigolot (born November 28, 1862 in Paris , † April 25, 1932 ibid) was a French painter in the Belle Époque .

Life

Albert Rigolot received his artistic training in Paris in the 16th arrondissement from Léon Germain Pelouse and Auguste Allongé. In 1886 he made his debut in the Paris art exhibition Salon des artistes français .

In 1890 the Mormons from Utah sent the painters Lorus Pratt, John Fairbanks, Edwin Evans and Hans Hafen to Paris to study. Albert Rigolot instructed the four men at the Académie Julian in the subject of wall painting. It was about how to restore the Salt Lake Temple .

Later the landscape painter Albert Rigolot was influenced by the Barbizon School . After his Algeria trip in 1896 he painted Oriental and became a member of the Société des Peintres Orientalistes Français .

In 1900 Albert Rigolot painted the restaurant Le Train Bleu in the Lyon train station in fin de siècle style.

Albert Rigolot's son Yves André Rigolot (1910–1996) painted under the name Yves Rouvre.
