Albert Schulte (politician, 1877)

Albert Schulte (born August 12, 1877 in Velbert , † November 27, 1952 in Darmstadt ) was a German politician ( SPD Hessen ) and Hessian member of the state parliament of the People's State of Hesse in the Weimar Republic .

biography

Albert Schulte was the son of the locksmith Julius Schulte and his wife Berta nee Jahn. Schulte, who was a Protestant denomination, married Karoline Friederike née Müller. After attending primary school, he worked as a typesetter's assistant until 1914. He was initially a member of the supervisory board and from 1914 to 1915 an employee of the Darmstadt consumer association . From 1915 to 1920 he was managing director of the consumer association in Worms .

Schulte was from November 9th to December 8th, 1918 as the first chairman of the workers 'and soldiers' council or the people's committee (from December 3rd, 1918) at the head of the Worms city administration. After the local elections in November 1919, he was as an honorary Associate member of the City Board. From October 13, 1920 to September 1932 he was a full-time alderman (or from 1924 full-time mayor) in Worms.

From 1919 to 1921 he was a member of the Landtag of the People's State of Hesse for the SPD.

Albert-Schulte-Park in Worms was named after Schulte in the 1960s .
