Georg Philipp August Albert Treier (born June 7, 1886 in Ludwigshafen , † February 19, 1956 in Würzburg ) was a German lawyer and author.

Life

He attended humanistic grammar schools in Pirmasens , Landau in the Palatinate and Bamberg . He then studied in Munich, Berlin and Erlangen, where he received his doctorate with a paper on “The private law position of illegitimate children in the area of ​​Bamberg land law” (1911). He worked as a lawyer, prosecutor and judge. Among other things, he worked as a district judge in Schweinfurt.

Treier wrote historical non-fiction books and was a collector of bookplates . In 1989 an exhibition of his collection took place in the Badische Landesbibliothek , which gave an overview of the development of the bookplate from the beginning of the 16th to the middle of the 20th century.
