Albert Weil, who sailed for the Cercle de la Voile d'Arcachon , took part in the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp as the skipper of the Rose Pompon , whose crew consisted of Robert Monier and Félix Picon . The only competitor in the regatta was the Dutch boat Oranje owned by skipper Joop Carp . Since the Rose Pompon was delayed due to problems with customs, the first of three races was not held. The second and third races were won by the Orange , so that Weil, Monier and Picon received the silver medal.

He graduated from the École des hautes études commerciales de Paris and worked as a corporate asset manager. Weil, who owned several yachts, was also a lieutenant colonel in the reserve and received the Knight's Cross of the Legion of Honor .
