Albert Ritter von Mühlwerth (born April 8, 1862 in Trieste , † October 14, 1934 in Krems an der Donau ) was an Austrian - Bohemian politician ( German Radical Party ) and lawyer. He was a member of the Austrian House of Representatives from 1907 to 1918 and a member of the Provisional National Assembly from 1918 to 1919 .

Life

Mühlwerth was born the son of a line captain in Trieste. He attended elementary school and grammar school and then studied law at the University of Graz . During his studies he became a member of the Frankonia Graz fraternity in 1879 . Mühlwerth did his military service as a one-year volunteer with Feldjäger Battalion No. 9 , where he ended his service as a reserve lieutenant. Between 1883 and 1886 he worked as an auscultant in the civil service and subsequently founded a law firm in Krems an der Donau. He also worked as chairman of the German Association in Krems. Mühlwerth stood in the Reichsrat election in 1907 in the constituency of Bohemia 90 for the Free German Party (later: German Radical Party) and prevailed in the runoff election against the candidate of the Social Democrats. In 1911 he was able to defend his seat in the House of Representatives again against a Social Democrat. Wühlwerth was sworn in on June 17, 1907 and subsequently served on numerous committees. From June 1907 he was a member of the immunity committee and from July 1911 its deputy chairman. In addition, he was a member of the "Press Committee" between 1907 and 1912 and from 1917 onwards and at times also belonged to the Economic Committee, the Committee on Shipping and Fisheries, the Justice Committee, the Fees Committee and the Defense Committee. After the end of the First World War, Mühlwerth automatically belonged to the Provisional National Assembly as a member of a German-speaking constituency between October 21, 1918 and February 16, 1919.
