Albert von Rechberg

Albert Ulrich Maximilian Eustach Kaspar Bernhard Count von Rechberg and Rothenlöwen zu Hohenrechberg (* December 7, 1803 in Regensburg ; † December 27, 1885 at Donzdorf Castle ) was a registrar of the kingdoms of Bavaria and Württemberg and from 1860 to 1872 President of the Württemberg Chamber of Notaries . He came from the old Swabian noble family of the Counts of Rechberg .

Live and act

Albert von Rechberg was the son of Count Aloys von Rechberg (* 1786; † 1849) and Countess Maria Anna (* 1778; † 1825). Albert had four sisters and one brother, Count Johann Bernhard von Rechberg . Albert was in the diplomatic service for Bavaria until 1830. In 1833, as his father's deputy, he became a member of the Württemberg Chamber of Notaries. Seven years before the death of his father, he succeeded him by contract as a majorate in Donzdorf . In 1848 he was a member of the preliminary parliament . From 1860 to 1872 he was President of the First Chamber of the Württemberg Land estates. In 1861 he was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown by King Karl . In 1862 Albert supported the establishment of the German Reform Association . His candidacy for the customs parliament in 1868 failed. After 1871 Albert did not take part in any meeting of the estates and since then has been represented by his son Otto von Rechberg . Albert von Rechberg was also a member of the Chamber of Imperial Councils of the Crown of Bavaria.

Marriage and offspring

Count Albert married his cousin Walpurga Marie Julie Countess von Rechberg on July 6, 1830 in Donzdorf (born January 16, 1809 in Munich; † April 6, 1883 in Donzdorf).

Albert's marriage to Walpurga had seven children:

  • Count Otto von Rechberg (born August 23, 1833 in Donzdorf; † March 20, 1918 ibid); married since 1870 to Princess Therese zu Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst (* 1851; † 1923)
  • Marianne Pauline (born December 18, 1834 in Donzdorf, † May 3, 1910 in Moos); married since 1858 to Count Friedrich von Quadt zu Wykradt and Isny (* 1818; † 1892)
  • Bertha (* May 14, 1841 in Donzdorf; † February 21, 1842 ibid)
  • Karoline (born October 1, 1842 in Donzdorf, † January 27, 1926 in Steißlingen); married since 1864 to Freiherr Roderich von Stotzingen (* 1822; † 1893)
  • Marie (born August 8, 1844 in Donzdorf, † April 1, 1914 in Möggingen ); married since 1878 to Count Adolf von Walderdorff († 1919)
  • Albertine (born September 19, 1846 in Donzdorf; † December 28, 1858 ibid)
