Alberto Aguilar Mijes (born September 3, 1960 in Tampico , Tamaulipas ) is a former Mexican football player on the position of goalkeeper , who took up a coaching activity after his active career.

career

Aguilar began his professional career in the 1979/80 season at Club León . He was then in the 1980s with CD Coyotes Neza , his hometown club Tampico-Madero FC and Puebla FC under contract. In the 1989/90 season he played for the Cobras Ciudad Juárez and in the further course of the 1990s for the capital club Cruz Azul , Monarcas Morelia and the UANL Tigres .

Trainer

After his playing career, Aguilar worked as an assistant coach at the UANL Tigres and soon after took over the position of head coach at the Guatemalan CSD Comunicaciones , with whom he won the Guatemalan football championship in the 2001 Clausura .

He then worked as an assistant coach for various clubs in Mexico and took on the role of goalkeeper coach for the Mexican national soccer team , which he exercised at the 2006 and 2010 soccer world championships . In December 2011 he also signed his first contract as a goalkeeping coach at club level with the Mexican first division club Rayados de Monterrey .
