Alberto D'Aversa

Alberto D'Aversa (born March 4, 1920 in Casarano , † June 21, 1969 in São Paulo , Brazil ) was an Italian film director and theater maker .

Life

D'Aversa received his training as a director at the Accademia d'Arte Drammatica and completed the film 07 ... tassi , which was made under various directors and was interrupted several times during the turmoil of World War II - during which he also worked as a member of the army Marcello Pagliero and Riccardo Freda were involved. D'Aversa was now mostly involved in the theater; for the cinema, after two films, he brought Una voce nel tuo cuore , which he had also written, to the screen in 1949 as assistant director . There was no success; D'Aversa emigrated to Argentina and later to Brazil.

He had already gotten to know South America through a tour in 1947, where he staged numerous plays after his arrival in 1950 and made a name for himself as a comedy director. From 1953 he taught at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata . Four years later he fled Peronism to Brazil, where he continued to work as a director and lecturer. In addition to his stage work, he directed five films in Argentina in collaboration with Armando Bó and two further films in Brazil in the mid-1960s.
