Alberto Panza

Alberto Pansa (born February 8, 1844 in Turin , † April 4, 1928 in Rome ) was an Italian diplomat .

Life

Alberto Pansa was the son of Caterina Pirondi and Giuseppe Mamansa. He was married to Maria Pansa (1867-1960). He entered the foreign service in 1865. From 1866 to 1869 he was Consul General in Budapest in Austria-Hungary . In 1879 and from 1881 to 1883 he was accredited in Bucharest .

From 1884 to 1885 he was employed at the embassy in Constantinople. From 1889 to 1893 he was ambassador to Beijing . On February 21, 1892 he was promoted to extraordinary envoy and ministre plénipotentiaire . From February 8, 1894 to September 15, 1895 he was envoy to Cairo . On September 15, 1895, he was appointed envoy to Constantinople, where he was accredited from October 24, 1895 to March 10, 1901. From March 10, 1901 to March 8, 1906, he was Ambassador to the Court of St James’s . From November 22, 1906 to November 1912, he was ambassador to Berlin . He resigned from this post because it had nothing in common with the new diplomacy of Foreign Minister Antonino Paternò-Castello .
