Alberto Uria (born July 11, 1924 in Montevideo , † December 4, 1988 there ) was a Uruguayan racing car driver .

Career

Alberto Uria was one of the South American racing drivers who took part in car races held in Argentina . The man from Montevideo crossed the Río de la Plata twice to compete in the Argentine Grand Prix in Buenos Aires with his Maserati A6GCM .

In 1955 he retired due to a defect in the fuel pump, in 1956 he shared the cockpit with Óscar González and came in sixth, 10 laps behind the winners Juan Manuel Fangio and Luigi Musso in a Ferrari D50 .
